Hi, I’m Marni
I am honored that you are here. Although we may not know each other yet, it’s wonderful that you have found this space. Ever since I was young, I have been drawn into the spiritual and natural world - always curious with an insatiable desire to learn about the universe. This inner quest has lead me into the most incredible sacred sites, temples, churches, libraries, and mother earth ceremonies. I also have been extremely fortunate to have incredible teachers, guides and mentors along my 30 years of study. Those include and not limited to my Mother, my Children, my life experience of being a survivor on many levels; Dr. Ruey Ryburn of Sacred Path Healing School, Dr. Jack Kornfield & Dr. Tara Brach with the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Program, Dr. Bessel van der Kolk of Trauma Research Foundation, Saya Lay at the Burmese Monastary and Nunnery and the many professors at CIIS Women’s Studies Program and Chiang Mai University, so many others.
I am always learning and growing. I was raised in Hawaii to a Burmese Mother and Irish-Scottish Father, a mother of 2, I live between Hawaii and Thailand. I began meditating at the age of 13, in my Mother’s country of Myanmar (Burma). I am currently conduciting my thesis research in Ph.D in Women’s Studies and Social Science by creating trauma wellness programs and pyschosocial support along the Thai/Myanmar border for the displaced and refugee populations due to the ongoing war conflicts within Myanmar due to the coup in February of 2021..
My thesis is on:
“The Cosmology of Healing and the Re-Emergence of the Divine Feminine Consciousness in the 21st century through the acts of sacred altruism, heart-centered leadership, and collective healing - a dialogue of cultural humility for the world.”
I am an Ordained Spiritual Healer, Ph.D Candidate - Women’s Studies: Thesis: Cosmology of Healing: The Feminine Rebalance, Certified Mindfulness Teacher, Certified Hatha & Kundalini Yoga Teacher (RYT 1000) and Certified Sound Healer. I have practiced in monastic and retreat centers including: Thich Nhat Hanh Monastery, Spirit Rock Meditation Center, Tassajara Mountain Zen Center, Palolo Zen Center, Hawaii Vipassana and Myanmar Vipassana Center (Burma), Thailand Vipassana Center, Wat Sopharam Vipassana International Meditation Center, Thailand and more.
I love to curate safe spaces for people to heal, learn and grow.
I look forward to connecting with you,
All my love,
Marni Suu
